The manuscript was submitted on 20 January 2025, received reviewer comments on 29 November 2024, submitted revisions on 17 December 2024, and both reviewers agreed to publication by February 2025. The editor then asked me to put everyone except the first and corresponding authors in the acknowledgments, and I submitted the revised manuscript on 05 February 2025. After waiting for almost a year, the manuscript was directly withdrawn today (13 May 2025). I had emailed the journal multiple times during this period to inquire about the status of the manuscript, only to be told to be patient and that I would be notified of any updates. It is truly frustrating. I had thought that the publication was a sure thing since both reviewers had agreed, but it was ultimately rejected. It's really disappointing.
