As the level of disciplinary specialization increases, it becomes increasingly difficult for journals to find appropriate peer reviewers. Therefore, requesting authors to recommend reviewers is a mutually beneficial practice: the journal can find suitable reviewers and save time in searching for appropriate reviewers, while authors can provide support through their own networks, recommending scholars who can best understand the submitted paper
